Mid-19th Century mahogany Stick Barometer; the arched top with engraved silvered brass register plate, signed by the makers and bearing the usual barometer notations and manually-operated vernier. The trunk, veneered in mahogany, with exposed barometer tube terminating in turned cistern cover.


A partnership between the twin sons of Edward Dixey, spanning the years 1821-38, with premises at 3 New Bond St. On the death of George in 1838, the firm continued to prosper under Charles' proprietorship until 1862, securing numerous Royal warrants.
