silvered brass hygrometer, long detachable Fahrenheit
thermometer, signed 8-inch diameter main barometer
dial and spirit level, decorated with floral
motifs, typical of the makers’ style.

Francis Snr. Was a highly talented engraver/instrument-maker
who worked from premises in east London for
around 40 years up to 1830, at some time in
partnership with son Francis jnr., who thereafter
continued the business alone.
