Good quality inlaid
mahogany Wheel Barometer, in essentially original
condition, with "swan-neck" pediment
over case, strung in boxwood and ebony and inset
with engraved silvered brass detachable hygrometer,
mercury Fahrenheit thermometer, 8 in. diameter
main dial and signed spirit-level.

A very competent barometer-maker, Porri is recorded
as a
jeweller, working from addresses in Caroline
St. and New Market Square from 1834-41.
