pediment over parquetry-banded frieze, with
elegantly proportioned case, veneered in well-patinated
Cuban mahogany, cross-grained, profusely chevron
banded, inlaid with unusual and well executed
oval and round stylised oak-leaf and floral
marquetry paterae, and inset with finely engraved
silvered brass Fahrenheit thermometer and 91/2-inch
diameter barometer dial.
