mahogany Wheel Barometer; the break-arch pediment
over case, veneered in Cuban mahogany, triple
strung, with cross-grained sides, inlaid with
bold round fan and delicate oval floral paterae
and inset with well engraved silvered brass
Fahrenheit thermometer and signed 8-inch diameter
barometer dial, with unusual horizontally aligned
weather notations and with cast brass bezel.

A most accomplished barometer
maker, who specialised in the manufacture of
barometer cases, Lione settled in Holborn having
emigrated from his native Italy in around 1790.
