19th Century mahogany Stick Barometer with ‘'swan-neck'
pediment over signed, engraved silvered brass
register plate bearing Fahrenheit thermometer,
rack-and-pinion operated vernier and protected
by glazed cover with reeded frame. The trunk,
edge moulded, ebony banded and veneered in very
attractive “flame” mahogany with
original concealed barometer tube terminating
behind turned cistern cover.

Maker who traded from premises in Bath and later
also Cheltenham from c1805 until his retirement
in 1845.
