Exceptional early 19th Century 'flame'
mahogany, bowfront Stick Barometer; the front-to-back
'swan-neck' pediment over finely engraved silvered
brass register plate, signed by the maker, and
bearing rack-and-pinion operated vernier. The
well-figured and finely patinated trunk, ebony
banded, and with original cistern barometer
tube terminating within urn-shaped cistern cover.

from premises in the Royal Exchange, next to
the Bank of England, from 1811-57
