Stick Barometer; the 'ogee' pediment over finely
engraved silvered brass register plates bearing
rack-and-pinion operated vernier [this mechanism,
intriguingly, typical of the London workshop
of the renowned Jesse Ramsden]. The finely patinated
trunk, ebony banded, and with original cistern
tube terminating within attractive ebonised
urn shaped cistern cover. c1810.
