mahogany ‘double-angle’ Stick Barometer;
the symmetrical upper section bearing twin register
plates, of finely engraved silvered brass and
signed by the maker. The narrower lower section
bearing Fahrenheit mercury thermometer. The
case of well-patinated ‘Cuban’ mahogany,
strung in boxwood and banded in kingwood. Rectilinear

Robb was primarily a quality
clockmaker who also produced a few barometers,
the majority of this ‘double angle’
variety, which was copied by Knie and Molliner
in Edinburgh
